HERMANN YUSTY RAYO . 1983 . CALI

Studies of Architecture and Graphic Design at Universidad del Valle (2000/2003) Cali. Master in Plastic Arts at the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes (2006/2012) Cali / Mention of Thesis Laureate to his work for the degree "Sanalotodo y Asociados" (2012).

Awarded a scholarship "Artistas Jóvenes Talentos 2009" granted by the Colombian Institute of Studies Abroad ICETEX for the realization of Master Modules on Graphic Work at the CIEC Foundation International Center for Contemporary Printing (Betanzos - Galicia / ESP / 2010).

Specialist in Serial Printing Techniques and Ancient Photographic Techniques / Edition and Printing of Portfolios and Projects / Binding book / Artist's Book / Serial Printed Publications / Fanzines.


Teacher since 2016 at the Instituto Popular de Cultura in the projects of Theory of Photography III / IV / Ancient Photographic Techniques / Silk-screen printing and engraving. Teacher of Engraving / Silk-screen printing / Metal engraving project at the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes (2013 - 2017)
 


Director of the “Atelier de Serigrafía” with the project "Guest Artist + Exhibition", leading the projects of the Graphic Techniques Research Seedbeds of "Andy Warhol Garden" and the traveling engraving collective "Lucernario Multigráfica", in association with artistic collectives, environmental and social poblational groups in the city.


Graphic Advisor, Workshop Director and Master Printer in various editing and printing projects at the Escuela Taller de Grabado in the Museo de Arte La Tertulia, with local, national and international artists between 2013 and 2018, workshop director in various events, museums and institutions in Colombia since 2007.

Visual Advisor and Director of Art and Scenography in theater projects at the Instituto Departamental de Bellas Artes (2013 - 2017) .


Co/founder together with teh artists Breyner Huertas and Carlos Tamayo, the collective space “Objeto Workshops” since 2013 dedicated to the intervention of space through the expanded use of Contemporary Graphics and the hybridization with the digital field, design and diverse conceptions of multiple production in series (Installations + Multiples + Artists' Books + Actions + Performances).

 

The development of his work has been linked from the concept of the Master Printer and the synergy between collaboration with multidisciplinary artists and collectives, generating a dialogue with the traditional, experimental and ecological printing and engraving procedures, the investigation of the sculptural multiple image, and the creation of Workshops, Experimental Itinerant Laboratories, Artistic Residences and Printed Publications, for diverse population and community groups.

His installations, graphic works, ex-libris, have been exhibited in various competitions, biennials, triennials, in South America and Europe, appearing in various private and public collections in Colombia and abroad.
